Apple Tackles iPhone 15 Pro Overheating Issue: Software Fix Coming Soon

Apple has found that third-party apps cause the iPhone 15 Pro battery and 15 Pro Max overheating. Just a week post-launch, numerous complaints have surfaced online. Apple has assured a fix is coming. Recently, a user on Reddit reported that his new iPhone 15 Pro battery swelled up.

Contrary to concerns, the titanium frame isn’t the culprit. Instead, apps like Instagram, Uber, and Asphalt 9: Legends overload the A17 Pro’s processor. A software update, iOS 17.1, is in beta testing, set for a late October release to fix the iPhone 15 problems. Meanwhile, Instagram released an update to ease the iPhone 15 Pro issues.

Apple confirms that the A17 Pro chip’s performance will remain the same post-update, ensuring the iPhone 15 series continues to offer an optimized user experience.

Apple’s Statement:

We have identified a few conditions which can cause iPhone to run warmer than expected. The device may feel warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity. We have also found a bug in iOS 17 that is impacting some users and will be addressed in a software update. Another issue involves some recent updates to third-party apps that are causing them to overload the system. We’re working with these app developers on fixes that are in the process of rolling out.

This situation highlights the challenges new releases often face. Yet, with swift action, the iPhone 15 Pro Max overheating and the broader iPhone 15 series are on track to overcome this hurdle quickly.
