Honor V Purse: A Unique Outward Foldable Phone with a Style of Its Own
Honor has taken a significant leap in the smartphone industry with the introduction of the Honor V Purse. Initially showcased as a prototype, this uniquely styled outward foldable device has now made its way to the consumer market through a limited pre-sale in China.
Design and Display
The Honor V Purse has a design that’s both innovative and functional. In its folded state, it’s impressively compact, even smaller than some of the leading bar phones like the Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The device features a single 7.71” OLED panel that wraps around its exterior. When folded, users get a 6.45” display with a 19.4:9 aspect ratio. This 10-bit panel offers vibrant DCI-P3 colors, a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and a refresh rate of 90Hz.
Performance and Software
Powering the V Purse is the Snapdragon 778G chipset, paired with a 16GB of RAM. Users have the option to choose between 256GB or 512GB storage variants. On the software front, the phone runs on MagicOS 7.2, which is based on Android 13.
Camera Capabilities
The camera setup on the V Purse is reminiscent of traditional smartphones. It houses a 50MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. For selfie lovers and video callers, there’s an 8MP front-facing camera. However, with the unique design, users can also utilize the rear cameras for front-facing tasks.
Battery and Charging
Despite its slim profile, the V Purse packs a 4,500mAh battery. This capacity is commendable, especially when compared to other foldable phones in the market. Charging is through a USB-C port, supporting 35W fast charging.
Unique Features
One of the unique features of the Honor V Purse foldable phone is its ability to be carried like a purse. Users can attach a chain, making it a fashion accessory. The wrap-around display allows for a variety of Always On Display styles, helps users to match it with their outfits.
