“I got the phone this Monday and didn’t spot the issue initially,” the owner detailed in the Reddit discussion. “A few days later, while trying a case, I felt something was off. Initially, I thought of getting a new case, but soon realized it’s the phone that’s swelling. Surprisingly, it’s still functional.”
Intriguingly, when the user approached an Apple Store for assistance, they were redirected to Verizon. It is the purchase point of the device. This move by Apple drew criticism from the iPhone community, emphasizing that the Genius Bar should assist irrespective of the purchase location. Fortunately, the user later updated that Verizon consented to replace the device. While this is the first reported case of an iPhone 15 Pro battery swelling, the underlying cause remains unidentified.
